Lyudmila Chubkina was born on 23 June 1953 in a small military town in the Vladimir region of Russia. Her roots trace back to France, which explains her innate sense of style and deep love for wine culture.

From an early age, Lyudmila impressed those around her with her talents – she conducted guided tours in German and displayed exceptional organisational skills. After graduating from an engineering university, she spent many years working in a scientific research institute, skilfully combining the precision of technical knowledge with the art of refined communication.

Later, she immersed herself in the world of wine – first studying at a university in Saint Petersburg, then at the renowned Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, as well as in Tuscany and other prestigious wine schools around the world.

Her elegance, charm, and unique ability to hold thoughtful, meaningful conversation made her the heart of every gathering. Wine became her passion, her philosophy, and her way of understanding the world.

This book is based on her handwritten notes – a tribute to an extraordinary woman, a devoted mother, and a true master of the art of wine.
