The Amber Heart

Polina is an amber expert from St Petersburg. She trusts stones, not people, because stones dont lie. She is invited to the seaside town of Zelenomorsk to value the famous collection of the late Arkady Stern. Its greatest treasure is the Amber Heart, a brooch with a mosquito frozen inside it forty million years ago.

On her very first day, Polina realises the brooch is a fake. That night a light flickers in the greenhouse, and in the morning the housekeeper is found dead at the foot of the cliff stairs. In a house where the heirs hate each other, everyone is hiding something. The case falls to investigator Gleb Vetrov, wry and stubborn. He asks Polina for help, but soon the evidence starts pointing at her.

A gripping story of love, deception and the truth that always leaves a trace.
